NGO, DCE provide free healthcare services for Bebu community

Ghana Health News-Nkrumah’s Restoration of Hope; a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) based in New York, United States of America (USA) in collaboration with Nana Okyere Tawiah,  the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwanwoma in the Ashanti region, has provided a free health screening for the people of Bebu community in the Ashanti region.

Mrs. Animah Sika-Boamah, the Executive Director of the organization, at the exercise explained that, their aim is to help the needy and less privileged in the society, especially those in the rural communities to improve their health status.

According to her, the district could boast of a lot of professionals in various categories, which she is one of them, and was approached by the DCE to help provide a free health screening for the community with the knowledge they acquired from schools in all the basic ailments like diabetes, eyes, nose, ears and throat, babies with malnutrition and blood pressure to help them live healthy lives.

Mr. Isaac Boamah, Director of operations, indicated that, the organization did not provide only free health services but also help the less privileged with potable water, clothing and shoes to improve their general standards of living.

Nana Okyere Tawiah, the District Chief Executive of the area, thanked the organization and residents of the community for their co-operation towards the success of the programme.

He entreated the general public to cultivate the attitude of routine checkups at least once or twice annually to enable them know their health status.

He disclosed that, the exercise would not be a nine day wonder but would be recurring and will also be extended to other communities in the district to ensure that the health standards of the residents improve.
